What is a Dorje Subscription Plan?

A Dorje subscription plan includes periodical deliveries of our freshest seasonal Darjeeling teas (Same for Green and Black tea).

How long does the subscription last?

Each subscription lasts for 1 year. At the end of 1 year, you can choose to renew existing subscription or choose another one.

What kind of tea quality do we offer?

We offer only Loose Leaf teas. Our teas are organic, fresh from the farm, and packaged at the estate. We package the tea as soon as it comes out of the drying oven, and dispatch directly from the Heritage Tea Factory at Selim Hill Tea Estate, where we are based out of. 

Where do we source our teas from?

Currently, we sell tea only from Selim Hill Tea Garden in Darjeeling. You can read more about our farms here.

How do I become a member of the Tea Club?

All active subscription holders are members of the Tea Club and enjoy access to exclusive and limited edition teas, events, discounts on individual packets and other benefits. By purchasing a subscription, you automatically become a member of our Tea Club, and become a supporter of Selim Hill Tea Garden, and its local community. 

Can I try before I decide to buy the subscription?

Unfortunately, we do not offer trials. Alternatively, you can purchase the 100g packets to sample our teas, which is available on our Shop page. 

Which flush will I receive?

Under the subscription plan, you will receive each of the 4 flushes throughout the year. The flush that you will receive depends on the particular month of delivery. For example, if you purchase a subscription on 12th June, 2021, you will receive First Flush. After 3 months, on 12th September 2021 you will receive the Second Flush, further on 12th December 2021 you will receive the Roasted Flush and finally on 12th March 2022 you will receive the Autumn Flush. When and how will I be charged?

When you purchase a subscription plan, we create a mandate on your payment method and charge you each time we deliver. We don’t charge you the full subscription amount at the beginning. For example, if you purchase a quarterly subscription on 12th June, 2021, you will be charged Rs. 575. After 3 months, on 12th September 2021 you will be charged Rs. 575 again, further on 12th December 2021 you will be charged another Rs. 575 and finally on 12th March 2022 you will be charged the last Rs. 575. 

Do I have to keep paying every time I get a delivery?

No, for the subscription plan, we create a mandate on your payment method and charge you each time we deliver, automatically. For example, under the quarterly plan for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th payments, you do not have to go on our website and pay each time. We will charge you the same amount and deliver the tea to your doorstep. Once you have bought a subscription, you don’t need to worry about payments or delivery. We will handle everything seamlessly on our backend.

Can I cancel my subscription after one or two deliveries?

Unfortunately, we do not allow cancellations to the subscription midway. The reason we are able to offer the subscription at such an affordable rate is because we are able to sell all 4 flushes at a low average price. We procure the 4 flushes at different market prices. As you know, First and Second Flush have higher market prices compared to others. If you cancel midway, we are left with Roasted and Autumn Flush which have a lower price and hence we incur a loss. This disrupts our subscription model, and leads to huge losses for the tea garden and its local community.
