Choose your Dorje Wellness Tea According to your Ayurvedic Dosha

The Ayurvedic way of life is based on the fact that the world and everything in the world is made up of different combinations of the five basic elements - aakash (space), jala (water), prithvi (earth), teja (fire), and vayu (air)

 Understanding Ayurvedic Doshas or Categories

 When the five elements are combined in different measures, the result is in three broad categories -

· Vata

· Kapha

· Pitta 

Known as Doshas in Ayurveda, these simply mean a collection of certain qualities in the basis of which you are categorised. These, humors, doshas or categories are responsible for a person’s physiological, mental and emotional health.

· Vata

Vata consists mostly of the two elements air and space (also known as ether) and is generally described as cold, light, dry, rough, flowing, and spacious. Autumn represents vata for its cool, crisp days.

Those with the vata dosha are usually described as slim, energetic, and creative. They’re known for thinking outside the box but can become easily distracted. What’s more, their mood is highly dependent on the weather, people around them, and food they eat.

1. The Dorje Kashmiri Kahwa Tea

Star Anise in the Dorje Kashmiri Kahwa has Madhura (sweet), Tikta (bitter) and Katu (pungent) taste and exhibits a hot potency. It is an Ushna Virya herb that helps pacify Vata. 

2. Dorje Chamomile Tea

Belonging to the Vata type, you may often feel stressed. Therefore, calming elements like chamomile will help you.


· Kapha

Kapha (pronounced “kuffa”) is based on earth and water. It can be described as steady, stable, heavy, slow, cold, and soft. Spring is known as kapha season, as many parts of the world slowly exit hibernation.

People with this dosha are described as strong, thick-boned, and caring. They’re known for keeping things together and being a support system for others. Kapha-dominant people rarely get upset, think before acting, and go through life in a slow, deliberate manner.

1. The Dorje Orange Tea

Medicinal Properties of Orange Peels As per Ayurveda, orange peel is tikta (bitter) and has laghu and ruksha guna. Due to these properties, it effectively pacifies kapha.

2. The Dorje Hibiscus Tea

According to Ayurveda, hibiscus has a sweet and astringent taste, or rasa, and a cooling virya, or energetic effect on the body. These qualities make it ideal for  kapha dosha

· Pitta

Known for being associated with a tenacious personality, the pitta dosha is based on fire and water. It’s commonly described as hot, light, sharp, oily, liquid, and mobile. Summer is known as pitta season for its sunny, hot days.

People with pitta are said to usually have a muscular build, be very athletic, and serve as strong leaders. They’re highly motivated, goal-oriented, and competitive. Still, their aggressive and tenacious nature can be off-putting to some people, which can lead to conflict.

1. The Dorje Chamomile Tea

Another tea to help balance Pitta is chamomile tea, great for relaxing the mind and the body. Pittas have great sharp minds and they need to nourish their nervous system with relaxing effects so that they don't experience mental burnouts.

2. The Dorje Hibiscus Tea

According to Ayurveda, hibiscus has a sweet and astringent taste, or rasa, and a cooling virya, or energetic effect on the body. These qualities make it ideal for Pitta dosha.

The spice Saffron, is considered Tridoshic in that it balances all Doshas. It is also known as a wonderful anti-oxidant to flush toxins out of the body and skin, is a soothing anti-inflammatory, and encourages blood circulation.
